Delta Children's Museum Presents "Predators" Exhibit

January 13th to April 15th

CITY: Greenville, LOCATION: Greenville Mall. The Delta Children's Museum will sponsor and bring to the Delta a 2,400 sq. ft. family-oriented "hands-on" children's exhibition called "Predators" for a three month exhibition stay located in the Greenville Mall. Times of operation will be Tuesday-Saturday, 9a.m.-5p.m.; Sunday 1p.m. - 5p.m.; The museum will be closed on Mondays.  http://www.deltacm.org

Greenville Speedway Season Opening

March 31st to October 6th

The Greenville Speedway begins its new racing season at the most exciting track in the Delta. Come and check out the fast action, heart pounding, wheel to wheel racing at the Greenville Speedway which includes race cars of all makes and models, with exciting competitions, weekly racing, and cash prizes. Giant Easter Egg Hunt at Winterville Mounds

April 7th

Giant Easter Egg Hunt.  Children up to 12 years old are invited to participate in an Easter egg hunt. Red Cross Dinner Theater

April 13th to April 14th

This years theme is " Testify to Love" and will be held for two consecutive nights at the Washington County Convention Center. Bob Hawkins will be directing. Doors open at 5:30 and dinner will be served at 6:00. The show will begin at 7:00 each night. Tickets can be purchased at the Delta EDC, Lott Wells Pharmacy, oor by contact the Red Cross office at 378-32145.

Keep Greenville Clean Lunch Party

April 14th

FREE EVENT! Bring the family and come out to the Greenville Mall for some good old-fashioned fun, food, and games as Keep Greenville Beautiful kicks off their Not Meth. Not Once. Let's Keep Greenville Clean Launch Party! Meet your friends and test your skills on the Obstacle Course, bring the kids to meet Rico, the drug dog! basketball hoops, Dinosaur Bounce for the kids, hot dogs, sno cones, nachos and drinks. Contest, prizes and giveaways! Stop by the tent and register for a free paint ball party for 10 at the Delta Paint Ball Park or a free pizza party for 10 at Pasquale's. Free food coupons from McDonald's and Hardees, T-shirts and more! Everyone will receive a $1.00 off coupon for the Predators Exhibit which ends April 15 in the Greenville Mall.

Make Art Not War exhibit at E.E. Bass Cultural Arts Center

April 20th to June 8th

-The Greenville Arts Council announces the opening of their third exhibit of the 2012 year in the Roger D. Malkin Gallery. Make Art Not War the Artwork of Kim Guthrie opens on April 20 and will remain up until June 8, 2012. The Roger D. Malkin Gallery is open from 10 AM-4 PM Monday through Friday and by appointment on Saturday. This exhibit showcases the three dimensional and two dimensional work of Kim Guthrie. Prepare yourself to have fun! This exhibit has allowed Guthrie to be free and unhindered by artistic traditions, stigmas or mediums. For 27 years, Guthrie has created murals for clients with specific tastes and requirements. While those opportunities made it possible for her to make a living as an artist, she was hindered somewhat creatively. So now, look out, it’s all about experimentation and freedom! This exhibit it filled with a variety of installations, mixed media pieces, and paintings. “The Greenville Arts Council is looking forward to this exhibit. Kim does a great job of using recycled and different materials to create artwork that everyone can relate to. Her humor and creativity come through in every piece,"stated MacKenzie Stroh, Executive Director of the Greenville Arts Council.  The opening reception will be held on April 20, 2012 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM and is free and open to the public. This exhibit will remain in the gallery until June 8, 2012. Artwork will be available for purchase. 30th Annual Miss. State/Ole Miss Tennis & Golf Tourney.

April 20th to April 22nd

 Participants from various parts of Mississippi, Tennessee, and even California will come to Greenville to participate in the tennis and golf tourneys. The event provided another $24,000 in scholarships to Washington County Students in 2011, which brings total money raised over the event's lifetime to approximately $375,000.  The event will be held at the Greenville Golf & Country Club, Cypress Hills Tennis Club, Wards Recreational Center and the Leland Raquet Club. April 25th

Mayor Chuck Jordan will have guest speaker, former Freedom Rider, Hank Thomas, as his special guest at the Washington County Convention Center for the 1st Annual Mayor Prayer Luncheon "Mission Mississippi." Call City Hall at 378-1500 or visit them on their website.

Warfield Park Open House

April 28th

Come to one of the most unique parks in Mississippi and enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs, smoked sausage, free drinks, and trail use, as well as free camping and RV sites and free bike usage. The park is one of two in Mississippi that is located on the banks of the mighty Mississippi River.

The Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development Center Annual Meeting

April 30th

 Come hear how the “Stars are Lining up for Greenville” at this year’s annual meeting to be held at the Washington County Convention Center! Enjoy a delicious taste of Washington County and be a part of the excitement!  Award-winning songwriter and performer Steve Azar will be the emcee for the night.  Guest Speakers will be Don FauntLeRoy, Cinematographer and Director of Photography for the movie Haunted, and Lesley-Anne Down, one of the stars from the Haunted and the Bold and the Beautiful.  Business Showcase booth space is available for $125 (includes two tickets.)  Tickets are $30 each or $400 for a reserved table of 8 with perks.  Tickets can be purchased at The Chamber/EDC, Montage Marketplace, and Wells-Lott Village Pharmacy.  Don’t miss it!
